POSITION SUMMARY

This position, located in Fall River, Massachusetts, reports to the Vice President Finance and directs the daily financial activities of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This is a hands-on role which also has supervisory responsibility for the accounting function.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Functions Statement:
  • Oversees the month-end close process, prepares financial statements and supporting schedules, and reconciles general ledger accounts.
  • Prepares timely reports for management which appraise, summarize, and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of revenue, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Establishes and maintains internal control systems and standard operating procedures to ensure adequate control, safeguarding of company assets, and compliance with laws.
  • Oversees the cost accounting and customer credit/collection functions.
  • Analyzes departmental spending vs. budget and advises managers of favorable or unfavorable business trends.
  • Directs and coordinates the annual budget process and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Leads the annual audit process and serves as main point of contact for external auditors.
  • Maintains compliance with required bank covenants.
  • Coordinates insurance coverage for the corporation’s property and casualty program.
  • Manages the company’s travel and expense policies.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by management.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

Experience:

  • 7+ years of progressive financial management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Familiarity operating in a multi-company environment is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems is required, preferably Epicor.
  • Proven collaboration across all functional areas and with all levels of an organization.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be available and willing to work outside normal business hours when necessary.
  • Some travel required to other domestic company locations.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel abilities
  • Proven customer service skills, including effective communication to resolve complex issues.
